TRUTH OR FRINGE THINKING? - You Decide
The following is information from various sources filtered through the experience of a middle aged American who over the past 16 years voted 50% for Democrats and 50% for Republicans.
What is happening in this country today concerns me tremendously. The stage has been set for taking away America as we know itÉ. right under our nosesÉMany Americans (including me) have bought into the rhetoric that says what is being done is in our best interestÉto keep us safeÉ to promote trade, etc.
Consider that our world is changing FAST and our lack of interest in following what is going on in our government and the world is setting the stage for taking away freedom as we know it. I see pieces of a puzzle falling into place one by one and I feel duped. Remember BidenÕs statement about something happening within the first 6 months of an Obama presidency? Remember he said that we might not understand what ÔtheyÕ might do, but hang in there? I think he was setting the stage for a greater agenda linked to Ôbroadening our bordersÕ, expanding government and/or giving away the power of the people to semi-invisible power brokers. Hope I am wrong, but signs point that way.

There are winds blowing that could forever change our pledge of allegiance, and our Union. Just what is the North American Union and what will it mean? Look closely at NAFTAÉCAFTAÉ the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP)ÉThe call for National ID cards and the role of the World Bank in literally every aspect of world politicsÉ
First, look at NAFTA and CAFTA: Bush, Clinton, Carter, a Òbipartisan alliance,Ó supported the Implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) beginning on January 1, 1994. This agreement removed most barriers to trade and investment among the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Under the NAFTA, all non-tariff barriers to agricultural trade between the United States and Mexico were eliminated. In addition, many tariffs were eliminated immediately, with others being phased out over periods of 5 to 15 years. This allowed for an orderly adjustment to free trade with Mexico, with full implementation beginning January 1, 2008. The same interests who got us into NAFTA are pushed to expand it to include 31 more countries in Central and South America through the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). In 2005, Congress voted to extend NAFTA to five Central American countries through the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), and the Bush Jr. administration pushed for adding Peru and Colombia to the list as well.
Moreover, the worldÕs real super power ÔThe World BankÕ supports NAFTA and CAFTAÉ and came out with an amazing study supporting flawed trade agreements. The Center for Economic and Policy Research, calls into question the basis for some of the studyÕs findings. The World Bank plays a key role in setting precedent for development policy globally. Its research shapes the debate and gives developing countries an indication of what Washington expects from them. When the World Bank uses bad numbers and a misguided methodology to recommend the NAFTA process to other developing countries, it potentially sets other countries on a Mexico-like path of slow growth, insufficient creation of good jobs, and destruction of rural livelihoods. In this, as in other instances, the World BankÕs interventions into the trade debate do more to muddle than to clarify the issues at stake. Ask yourself why the World Bank is putting out mis-informationÉThe role of the World Bank and Federal Reserve in our economic and political stability (or lack thereof) should be of interest to us allÉ Transparency issues are an issueÉThere has been considerable debate over a lack of transparency as to what is discussed in Federal Open Market Committee meetings. Since the FOMC sets monetary policy, which affects the entire U.S. economy, many people feel that it is important to know what the FOMC is doing Regulation in this area is weakÉWho are the power brokers behind the Federal Reserve and what is their agenda? Many people also wonder when the last audit of the gold supply in the USA was performed. Do you know? What do we the people really know about our Òpublic/privateÓ banking systems?É
Now, shifting to another piece of the puzzle:
The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America SPP. The name and language reel you in, but read between the lines. Under the watch of George Bush Jr., ÓThe Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) was launched in March of 2005 as a trilateral effort to increase security and enhance prosperity among the United States, Canada and Mexico through greater cooperation and information sharing.
This trilateral initiative is premised on our security and our economic prosperity being mutually reinforcing. The SPP recognizes that our three great nations are bound by a shared belief in freedom, economic opportunity, and strong democratic institutions.
The SPP provides the framework to ensure that North America is the safest and best place to live and do business. It includes ambitious security and prosperity programs to keep our borders closed to terrorism yet open to trade.
The SPP builds upon, but is separate from, our long-standing trade and economic relationships. It energizes other aspects of our cooperative relations, such as the protection of our environment, our food supply, and our public health.Ó
The language of the SPP is that we have a shared belief in freedom and economic opportunity and strong DEMOCRATIC institutionsÉSoon we could hear a need for the ÔtrilateralÕ to be deepened further Éwe will hear that we must join forces with ÔfriendsÕ to protect against financial disaster and protection against terrorismÉBush lead us into feeling patriotic as we gave up fundamental freedoms in the name of protection and fighting the war on terrorÉI voted for the guyÉI am one of those Americans who want to trust my leadersÉ I have grave doubt about the overall system these daysÉ

Other signs of the times to look for É The REAL ID Act of 2005 that creates a de facto national identification card. REAL ID was appended to a bill providing tsunami relief and military appropriations, and passed with little debate and no hearings. Ostensibly voluntary, it would become mandatory as those without the card would face suspicion and increased scrutiny. It is a law imposing federal technological standards and verification procedures on state driver's licenses and identification cards, many of which are beyond the current capacity of the federal government, and mandating state compliance by May 2008.
19 states have rejected Real IDÉ (NOT California).
In an opinion column written by Secretary Chertoff after the publication of the final rule, he said, "embracing REAL ID" would mean it would be used to "cash a check, hire a baby sitter, board a plane or engage in countless other activities." This is a description of a national identification system, which is illegal in the United States. When it created the Department of Homeland Security, Congress made clear in the enabling legislation that the agency could not create a national ID system. In September 2004, then-DHS Secretary Tom Ridge reiterated, "[t]he legislation that created the Department of Homeland Security was very specific on the question of a national ID card. They said there will be no national ID card." YetÉ. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff released the agency's final regulations for REAL ID on January 11, 2008. The Secretary scaled back some of the requirements, reduced the cost, and extended the deadline for state compliance. As part of the cost-saving effort, Homeland Security has decided not to encrypt the data that will be stored on the card.
If AmericanÕs do not speak out against this, the next move will be standing in line to put a chip in our arm in order to buy and sell goods, move between statesÉ.In the name of protectionist politics. Anyone who has read the book of Revelation in the Bible and believes it is the word of God should be getting a bit nervous now.
Soooo, we have globalization, National ID cards, very wealthy power brokers putting out misinformation and influencing political decisionsÉhmmmmmmmm.
Now Obama (the ultimate wordsmith) enters the scene. Will he lead us closer to an American Union and build comfort for a one world government? His role may well be setting the stage for America to drink the Ôwe are the world kool-aideÕ.
Look at how everyone reacted, or didn't react, to the first ÔBail OutÕ. The world leaders and financial puppeteers look on and see that many of we Americans have lost our guts, lost our belief in a capitalistic society, lost our moral compass and lost the understanding of what it is like to be uniquely American. Their CHANGE is possible, but what will it look like?
I am seriously concerned. Are you?
What we can do is talk to each other. Send information to friends and encourage people to educate themselves to what is going on in the worldÉin our country.
Write our representatives and tell them that we are watching.
Tell them you are against any form of NATIONAL ID.
Tell them you believe in the sovereignty of America and are suspicious of government interventions that open the door to an American Union involving other nations.
I for one am against all of the bail outs. I believe they are empowering power brokers and abandoning cornerstone principles of the American economy.
If you have concernsÉSPEAK OUT before you have no free speech.
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
